Surface Book 2 Release Date News, Rumors: Major Redesign Will Address Customer Complaints?
The latest news about the Surface Book 2 will certainly be a welcome change for some fans. Accordingly, Microsoft is giving the notebook a massive makeover.
A report from Windows Central revealed that Microsoft is finally listening to previous owners of the first-gen Surface Book, especially with regards to the fulcrum hinge. It said that this unique feature of the device did not really impress the owners in terms of aesthetics. There's also the fact that the gaps in the fulcrum gather dust and very difficult to clean.
The article added that the Surface Book 2 will look like a traditional laptop, even if the rumors claim that the dynamic fulcrum will not totally be abandoned.
In other news, Yahoo reported that Surface Book 2 will be powered by the Kaby Lake processor, which reportedly has already been delivered to PC makers. The new 14nm dual-core chipset is designed for faster computing and better battery life.
Rumors are escalating that Microsoft will be releasing an all-in-one PC lineup, which may include the Surface Book 2. The release date has initially been estimated to be in the third quarter of this year, which would be next month at the latest.
However, DigiTimes said that the Surface book 2, or any of the AIO PC, could be delayed until the first half of 2017. Part of the delay is due to the delivery of the Kaby Lake processors, which won't go into mass production until late 2016.
