‘Supernatural’ Spin-Off News: The CW Boss Says He’d Love to Air ‘Supernatural’ Spin-Off

Speaking at the 2015 Television Critics Association summer press tour, The CW president Mark Pedowitz somewhat stimulated the audience's psychic imaginations saying that the fans of the long-running television drama 'Supernatural' may possibly expect a spin-off television show sometime in future.

IB Times reports that delighting the fans as well as removing their doubts, Pedowitz said, "We'd love to do one," adding, "It probably will not happen this year, but at some point, there will be another swing."

The horror television drama series first released in 2014 gave rise to a cult and took a stab at creating a spinoff, titled 'Supernatural: Bloodlines.' Developed by "Supernatural" producer Andrew Dabb, the fantasy show made a mystical premiere during 'Supernatural' Season 9, wherein it served as a backdoor pilot.

According to the report, 'Bloodlines' pursued the action-packed storyline of a "mafia-esque monster families that, unknowingly to humans, ran the underbelly of Chicago." However, after a gruesome attack, the psychic families, comprising werewolves and shapeshifters, started experiencing even larger problems when they were hunted by a newly cast and revenge-seeking hunter, who was guided by the Winchester brothers, with the aim of eliminating anything or anyone supernatural in the Windy City.

While 'Bloodlines' ended early as it was not picked up by the CW, show runners of 'Supernatural' have been hopeful that some day they will be able to create a successful spin-off founded on the hugely popular horror series starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles.

In October 2014, 'Supernatural' executive producer Jeremy Carver told TV Line, "It's definitely something we're actively discussing." He further said, "So many stories have been told. So if anything, it makes it a bit more difficult to get it right. But it's definitely something we keep on discussing."

Meanwhile, 'Supernatural' creator Eric Kripke said that while he was on board for a spin-off, he didn't want to rush a re-tooled series. According Kripke, the man behind the eerie show, he will do it only if "the idea is right."

Kripke revealed, "We want to do it if it's something we're really excited about and it's a corner of the universe we haven't seen yet. We don't want to do it just to jam a piece of business through. We want to do it if we're going to come up with something that's as good as the mothership... Me and [executive producer] Bob [Singer] and Jeremy and stars Jared [Padalecki] and Jensen [Ackles], we all decided that it just has to be idea first. If it's not an idea that we're all totally in love with, we're not going to do it."

'Supernatural' Season 11 is set to premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 7.
