'Supergirl' Season 2 Spoilers, News: Trailer Shows Supergirl And Superman Team Up To Fight A Villain

The premiere episode of "Supergirl" season 2 is just a few weeks away. Co-created by Greg Berlanti, the series is close to joining the same universe as other DC Comics series as "Arrow," "The Flash," and "Legends of Tomorrow."

Earlier this year, it was revealed that "Supergirl" exists within the multiverse, but Kara Danvers is set to crossover with heroes from all the three DC shows before the year ends. More than the crossover, however, the most anticipated thing about the upcoming season is the introduction of Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman as Supergirl's cousin.

The superhero will make his debut in the premiere episode of the season, titled "The Adventures of Supergirl." While his future on the series remains unknown, the first trailer for "Supergirl's" season 2 teases that Supergirl will team up with her cousin to fight a villain together. The trailer further teases their team-up on top of Kara's friends and family's reaction to the arrival of the male superhero.

In the trailer, Kara and Clark are shown fighting drones above the city. The trailer also teases Cat Grant welcoming Superman into the CatCo offices, as well as Alex teasing Supergirl about how attractive her superhero cousin is.

Based on the new trailer, the season 2 premiere will not only see the arrival of Superman but will also act as a love letter to the source material of the show. Aside from Superman, another character to be introduced in season 2 is Lex Luthor's sister Lena.

"Supergirl" season 2 is set to premiere on October 10 on The CW. Watch the season 2 trailer.
