'Supergirl' Season 2 Spoilers: Katie McGrath Is Lena Luthor

Fall is fast approaching and "Supergirl" season 2 casting updates continue to surface. The latest addition to the gang is Katie McGrath, who will play the sister of Lex Luthor.

"Merlin" and "Dracula" star Katie McGrath will portray Lena Luthor, and she will have a recurring role in the upcoming series. Comic Book Movie recently released a detailed description of her character.

According to the site, Lena will arrive in National City closely after the imprisonment of Lex, with hopes of starting anew.

"Beautiful, powerful and enigmatic, Lena arrives in National City on the heels of brother Lex's incarceration hoping for a fresh start," reveals the site.

"Lena has taken over as CEO of her family's billion-dollar-tech company, Luthor Corp., which has been tarnished by Lex's evil infamy. Her goal? To rebrand the empire as a force for good. Lena wants to be seen as her own person, separate from her brother. Kara is drawn into Lena's sphere and must determine if she is friend or for."

There are speculations that Lena and Luthor Corp. will replace Maxwell Lord in the upcoming series, although that remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, a new Superman, played by "Teen Wolf" star Tyler Hoechlin, will make his debut in "Supergirl" season 2. His "Superman" TV costume was revealed in an official photo, which generated buzz among netizens.  How his version of The Man of Steel will take down the new villain, possibly Metallo, is one of the things fans should look forward to in season 2.

"Supergirl" returns this fall on The CW.
