'Supergirl' Season 2 News, Spoilers: Second Season Linked To Justice Society, Legends Of Tomorrow

"Supergirl" season 2 is set to be linked to the Justice Society and "Legends of Tomorrow," as per reports. Also, five actors have been attached to play the role of the Man of Steel in the series.

The new "Supergirl" season 2 cast hints a possibility that the Legends of Tomorrow will see the titular character, Movie Pilot has learned. According to the publication, the show is set to introduce interesting characters, such as Lex Luthor's sister Lena and Batwoman's girlfriend Maggie Sawyer.

It is also revealed that Snapper Carr will be introduced in "Supergirl" season 2. According to TV Guide, as cited by Movie Plot, Carr is set to revitalise the newsroom. The character is a season journalist and he steps into the story line to support Calista Flockheart's reduced role in the series.

In other news, five actors have been speculated to play the role of Superman in "Supergirl" season 2. According to Design and Trend, they are Tom Welling, who played the character for ten years in "Smallville;" "Pretty Little Liars" actor Ian Harding, who can portray Superman while keeping the superhero's "Smallville" look; and "White Collar" star Matt Bomer, who is also part of "American Horror Story."

"Devious Maids'" Ryan McPartlin, whose athletic body would suit the skin-tight Man of Steel suit, is also a potential actor for the role; and Sam Witwer, who could play the role with his experience in physical stunts.

"Supergirl" season 1 left fans with episode 20, which is entitled "Better Angels." In the episode, Supergirl was left with no choice but to face an unforeseen enemy and must put her life at risk in order to prevent Non and Indigo from terminating every person on Earth.

The title of "Supergirl" season 2 episode 1 is yet to be revealed; it is set to air on Sept. 19.
