'Supergirl' Season 2 News: David Harewood Is Martian Manhunter
Another Justice League member has recently been confirmed for the upcoming season of The CW's "Supergirl."
Next season, Martian Manhunter will join his fellow league member Superman as the show premieres again sometime in October.
The confirmation was made by British actor David Harewood through an Instagram post. The actor posted the first page of the script for the premiere episode of "Supergirl" season 2 with the title "The Adventures of Supergirl."
The title obviously resembles classic Superman radio and television series of old like "The Adventures of Superman" from the 1940's and 1950's and "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" from the 1990's. It is also the name of the digital comic book series of the Girl of Steel.
Harewood captioned his post "Let's go" but did not offer any clue about the story of the upcoming season.
Prior to his announcement, there were speculations that his character might be one of those Justice League members to be removed from the series due to budget constraints after the show moved from CBS to The CW. With his recent announcement, all rumors about his character being cut from the show were dismissed.
"Supergirl" originally debuted its pilot season on CBS in the fall of 2015. However, the network moved the superhero series to The CW following a decline in its ratings. CBS co-owns The CW with Warner Bros. TV, and it is where the sophomore season of the Girl of Steel will premiere alongside other DC comics series like "Arrow," "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow."
"Supergirl" season 2 premieres in October.
