'Supergirl' New Cast News: Calista Flockhart Returns to TV for Upcoming CBS Series

Rumors are finally confirmed that big time series actress Calista Flockhart will be back on television to play a new super role that is in the new upcoming CBS series, 'Supergirl'. Fans are definitely anxious to finally watch what unfolds in the unique story of Superman's cousin, Kara.

 

Kara, the Supergirl will be played by Glee's Melissa Benoist and Flockhart gets to play Cat Grant which is Benoist's boss in Flockhart's company CatCo. The initial story reportedly starts with Cat Grant founding the company which then has Kara as an assistant.

 

She conceals her true identity and reports claim that Flockhart has a huge role in the series since she will always be working closely with the lead actress. Flockhart's acting is unquestionably excellent as she is also a Golden Globe winner.

 

Flockhart's years of acting experience has earned her to be in several other shows like in Ally McBeal and Brothers & Sisters in 2011 as well as appearing in Lisa Kudrow's Web Therapy and even voiced animated characters in Robot Chicken and the Penguins of Madagascar.

 

Indeed, Flockhart is a super actress, fit for her role in the new series. The series is reportedly created by Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler who are also the masterminds in Arrow and The Flash. Other characters reportedly included in the show are True Blood actor Mehcad Brooks who is set to play James "Jimmy" Olsen, a photographer at CatC. Tony Award winner Laura Benanti will also be in the TV screens and recently cast in Nashville, Go On and The Good Wife. Benanto is reportedly taking on the recurring role of Kara's birth mother, Alura Zor-El.

 

The cast members including Flockhart is definitely something that excited fans to look forward in watching the new superhero series. For those that may not know, Flockhart is married to Hollywood actor Harrison Ford.
