'Super Smash Bros.' News, Update: NFL Team Tennesse Titans Develops Love Of The Game
Nintendo's "Super Smash Bros." has become the center of gaming for the NFL team Tennessee Titans.
The Tennessee Titans engaged with the Nintendo game, as they lost PlayStations and televisions due to the summer renovations of their team's practice facility, as per The Ringer. The starting left tackle and 2014 first-round draft pick Taylor Lewan reportedly ignited the team's obsession for the game.
In a statement, as cited by the publication, Lewan said he had brought his own Nintendo 64, his own controllers, and everything. For long snapper Beau Brinkley, they had been what he had got for his birthday when he had been 10.
Lewan detailed that some Titans players were "dogshit awful," so he asked them to play their football role. A case in point is tackle Nick Ritcher, who would just be Pikachu and he would shoot lightning bolt over and over again and distract people while Lewan's character would go fight the other guys.
In the same interview, center Brian Schewnke said that the team's love of the game was a nostalgic act. He said that they had had all the PlayStations, and those would come back at some point, but they had wanted to turn it back a bit.
As per Brinkly, the best thing about the Nintendo 64 was that there was no loading and its simplicity was what made it fun. He added that it was a classic console, along with "Golden Eye" and "Donkey Kong."
The original roster for the Nintendo 64 was less than the one in Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, according to IGN. As per the publication, the total number of playable characters was increased to 58, as Bayonetta and Corrin joined the roster in February.
"Super Smash Bros." is playable on Nintendo 64, Virtual Console. GameCube, iQue Player, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS.
