Today's Super Smash Bros 4 Pic of the Day Masahiro Sakurai showed off an awesome matchup between Samus and Zero Suit Samus.

In the picture Samus is propelling up using her rocket pack, while the unsuited version is using specially designed rocket shoes.

"Pic of the day. Samus and Zero Suit Samus!! How will she match up with her new jet boots?" wrote Sakurai in the Nintendo Miiverse. See the image here.

Zero Suit Samus was announced yesterday along with another female character, Shiek, who is the alternate version of Princess Zelda. Three other characters were added as well, Charizard, Greninja, and Yoshi.

One of Samus' Assist Trophies was introduced before all the hype and attention the Nintendo Direct conference received.

"Pic of the day. An insatiable, unidentified extraterrestrial is targeting a certain peaceful town"¦!" wrote Sakurai to the Miiverse in the caption of the picture. See the image here.

In the picture a giant Metroid alien is seen in the sky and is coming down to what seems like an Earthbound inspired level, also suggesting an appearance by Ness.

The characters confirmed for the game so far are: Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Pit, Olimar, Toon Link, Princess Peach, Sonic the Hedgehog, MegaMan, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, Zelda, the Villager, King Dedede, Lucario, Little Mac, and Diddy Kong.

The game will be released on the Wii U and 3DS.
