Katy Perry's Minister Father Supports 'Devil Child' at Superbowl XLIX Halftime Performance [VIDEO]
Katy Perry's evangelical minister father, Keith Hudson told reporters he is proud of his daughter despite the fact that she denounced her Christian faith, and confirmed he will be on hand to support her Super Bowl XLIX half time performance.
Hudson has been quoted calling Perry a "devil child" during his church sermons for her music and beliefs but is not worried about her half time performance show. "Oh no, I don't have a problem. She's gonna do some good ones-she's excited," Hudson told the DailyMail.
Hudson admitted that he is not a football fan but is looking forward to the clash between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots in Phoenix, Arizona.
"I don't watch football, I just hope somebody wins at the Super Bowl!" he stated.
The California based preacher said he is proud that his daughter landed the coveted half-time show at one of the biggest sporting event in America. He said, 'I'm always proud. I'm a proud father."
Hudson's latest enthusiasm about his daughter's upcoming performance is different from things that he has said in the past. He reportedly told a congregation two years ago, "They ask how can I preach if I produce a girl who sang about kissing another girl? I was at a concert of Katy's where there were 20,000. I'm watching this generation and they were going at it. It almost looked like church. I stood there and wept and kept on weeping and weeping. They're loving and worshiping the wrong thing."
Likewise Perry's mother Mary has previously said she "hates" "I Kissed A Girl" because it promotes homosexuality pegging its message "shameful and disgusting."
