'Suicide Squad' Rumors, Cast News: Rapper Common to Portray 'Tattooed Man' in DC Cinematic Universe?

Rapper Common has been confirmed to appear in next year's 'Suicide Squad,' however his role has continued to remain undisclosed.

Recent set photos of the actor in costume suggest that he may appear in the movie as the infamous villain the Tattooed Man. The photos depict the actor with a gratuitous amount of tattoos, including his face and body. He is also featured with a number of obnoxious piercings.

"Even though we now have officially seen Common in costume on the set of Suicide Squad who he will be portraying in the film has yet to be confirmed. He could be a number of villains from the long rogue list of Suicide Squad members. But based on his appearance it is speculated that he could be the one time Suicide Squad member Mark Richards a.k.a. the Tattooed Man. The Tattooed Man was ironically a nemesis of Justice League member Green Lantern which was a character that Common was suppose to play in the failed Justice League Mortal project," writes Movie Pilot.

Common has also been previously rumored to portray the role of Black Manta, a common Aquaman villain in the comics, however his appearance in the set photos seem to denounce that.

If either roles turn out to be true, there is a good chance the actor can return in subsequent DC films in the future.

"Mark Richards' powers are fueled by the sins of his victims. The Tattooed Man is marked with several tattoos all over his body that can come to life and obey his will which are very similar to the powers of the Green Lantern's ring. If Common is playing the Tattooed Man then it may mean we get a cameo of Green Lantern in an upcoming DC movie sooner rather than later," writes Movie Pilot.
