The 'Inception' star, Tom Hardy, leads an extremely busy life. So busy, in fact, that reports say the 37-year-old actor was forced to drop out of one of the most anticipated films of the year, 'Suicide Squad'. Jake Gyllenhaal was the directors' "top pick" as far as replacement, but can anyone really replace Hardy?

'Suicide Squad' is a film about a task force of antiheroes and former supervillains who work for the United States. The group takes on risky missions in exchange for decreased prison sentences. It promises to be a film of action, drama, and incredible acting... even without Tom Hardy.

Hardy was originally going to portray Rick Flag, the 'Suicide Squad' leader. Unfortunately, Tom's current film, The Revenant, coincides with the Suicide Squad's start date in April 2015. Unless the director decides to delay the filming, which seems unlikely, Hardy could be out of job come spring.

The good news is that Gyllenhaal has worked with the film director, David Ayer, in a pat film called the 'End of Watch'. It is hugely possible that he was second choice for this film because of their good relationship. It certainly helps that Gyllenhaal may be as excellent an actor as Tom Hardy.

Even without Tom, 'Suicide Squad' isn't lacking in the celebrity department. 'Wolf of Wall Street' - Margot Robbie, 'How to Get Away With Murder' - Viola Davis, and 'Men In Black' - Will Smith all have roles in the upcoming film, just to name a few. The film also stars Jared Leto, Jai Courtney, and Cara Delevingne.
