'Suicide Squad' Cast News: Jared Leto Bleaches Hair for Joker Role in Upcoming Film
Fans of the "Dallas Buyers Club" Oscar winner were already upset about Jared Leto's new haircut. Now, the star has bleached his hair for his upcoming role as The Joker in Suicide Squad.
In an Instagram photo, Leto showed off his new look to his followers. Other photos of his look were spread throughout the internet since his appearance at Paris Fashion Week. According the one Instagram user, they suggested that Leto bleached his hair so that it would be easier to dye green once the green hair was needed on set for the upcoming film.
Green hair is a signature hair color for The Joker. The Instagram user then did a side-by-side comparison of the bleach hair photo with a Joker photo the user had designed themselves. Followers of the user commented on how their theory is most likely true.
According the Batman News, fans are seeing similarities to Leto's new hairstyle with Joker's haircut from the recent "Batman: Endgame" storyline.
IMDB states that Suicide Squad is about "a secret government agency that recruits imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency." The first version of the group debuted in "The Brave and the Bold #25" and the second in "Legends #3." The Suicide Squad, also known as Task Force X is a part of the DC Comics Universe.
Leto will play the famous villain The Joker from the Batman comics. Other cast members include Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress and Jesse Eisenberg, who is rumored to appear as Lex Luthor.
Leto and his new hair will appear in Suicide Squad in the early Fall of 2016.
