'Suicide Squad' News: Adam Beach Talks About Jared Leto’s Gifts to Co-Stars

Jared Leto sent his Suicide Squad co-stars some gifts and letters since the Oscar winner was not around much when the movie first began production.

Adam Beach, who plays the role of Slipnot in the film spoke about the kinds of interesting gifts Leto sent the cast.

"He sent [Margot Robbie] a nice love letter with a black box with a rat in it -- a live rat," said Beach at the premiere of Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser. "It was beautiful. Then he sent bullets to Will [Smith] with a letter."

You might have heard of method acting, and this seems a lot like method gift giving.

The cast also received a video, with a "dead hog".

"Basically, what he said was, 'Guys I can't be there but I want you to know I'm doing my work as hard as you guys,'" said Beach of the meaning behind the gifts. "The video he showed is in character. It blew our minds away. Then we realized that day, this is real."

It also seemed like seeing Leto in character as the Joker for the first time was a very thrilling experience.

"He encompasses this beautiful man and he shows it in, "Hello, how are you?,' but in an instant, he goes to psychotic behavior when you're in fear," continued Beach. "But you love him because he has both of those genuine sides."

The film is directed by David Ayer, and will be making its debut in theaters August 5th, 2016.
