'Suicide Squad' New Cast News: Rap Artist Common Tapped to Play Still Undisclosed Role
While it has been announced that rapper Common has joined the all star cast of 'Suicide Squad,' the real question now is what character will he be playing?
All of the main roles have been casted earlier, meaning Common would most likely be playing a supporting character, although there are some rumors circulating surrounding him being a contender for the role of Green Lantern, which hasn't been confirmed for the movie by the way.
Common himself has become quite the accomplished actor so it wouldn't be farfetched to think he could land himself a role as large as that.
"Common is currently on screen with Warners' Liam Neeson thriller Run All Night and was part of the cast for acclaimed civil rights movie Selma. For the latter he won an Oscar for best original song, which he shared with John Legend. He is due to shoot Relativity's Hunter Killer with Gerard Butler in July," writes THR.
The Chicago born artist is now enlisted among a cast consisting of Will Smith (Deadshot), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), Jay Hernandez (El Diablo), Karen Fukuhara (Plastique), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jared Leto (Joker), and Ike Barinholtz.
'Suicide Squad' drops into theaters on August 5th, 2016.
