'Suicide Squad' Casting News: 'Friday Night Lights' Star Jay Hernandez Tapped for Role
If there is anything that recent news concerning DC's 'Suicide Squad' can teach us, it's that the developing cast is just full of surprise names.
Recent news from The Wrap has reported that actor Jay Hernandez ('Friday Night Lights') has just been added to the cast as Chato Santana.
If this is true the actor will be sharing screen time with Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jared Leto as The Joker, and possibly Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.
Hernandez may not be as high profile as some of the cast, but his acting record precedes him.
"Hernandez starred in Peter Berg's feature adaptation of 'Friday Night Lights,' and his feature credits also include 'Crazy/Beautiful,' 'Hostel' and 'World Trade Center.' He recently co-starred on Fox's 'Gang Related' and will soon be seen in Boaz Yakin's 'Max,' which Warner Bros. is slated to release in August," writes The Wrap.
Fans may all know soon of the actor's place in the movie, as production is slated to start in April.
'Suicide Squad' is slated to hit theaters on August 5th, 2016.
