'Suicide Squad' Cast News, Rumors: Will Batman Make an Appearance in the Film?
David Ayer's upcoming 'Suicide Squad' is beginning to sound a lot like a mini DC team up of superheroes and villains. It was recently revealed that Deathstroke will play a role in the film, and now Latino Review's El Mayimbe has returned to shed some light on the Batman inclusion rumors.
Despite never revealing his sources, he's had a great track record so far on the inside scoop for much of the upcoming DC films. The intel he provides doesn't imply that Batman will be a central character, however his presence will be essential. In a recent Instagram post he writes:
"According to sources, in the film Batman is some sort of big boogeyman that the government REALLY hates. Get this, prior to the events in #BatmanvSuperman, THE JOKER is the only one to really ever meet him or know him and that's why he's so important to Amanda Waller. They have footage of Batman in action which they watch. There is a bit of dialogue where they say Batman is the key to tracking down all 'the supers.' Very cool stuff."
Though this hasn't been confirmed yet, it does sound fairly logical in the approach of the film. 'Suicide Squad' will essentially be the first film in the DC world to lay the groundwork to the 'Justice League' movie. Batman tracking down the "supers" may be the first step in them going forward.
'Suicide Squad' debuts on August 5th, 2016.
