'Street Fighter 5' Release Date Announced, Beta Version Allows Players To Preview New Features
The much anticipated release of 'Street Fighter 5' now has an official date. The beta version has been be available on December 18, 2015 but the full version will be released on February 16, 2016. The beta version will allow players to preview some of the new features, albeit not completely functional.
Capcom has officially unveiled the opening cinematic trailer of the game last December 5-6, 2015 during the PSX 2015 event in San Francisco. It was also during the event that the release dates for the beta and the full versions were also announced during the gathering. Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono was present in the event and made some official announcements.
Yoshinori Ono also announced that the Camcom Pro Tour will be scheduled on the third week of March 2016. 'Street Fighter 5' will be the official game of the tournament. He said that the tournament finals will be held I Atlanta, Georgia with a total of $500,000 pool prize.
Street Fighter 5's cinematic teaser has revealed several updates about the game. The newcomer Fang was introduced. He is the main sidekick of M. Bison in the Shadaloo organization. His main weapon of choice is poison. Fang's poison attack will cause the life bar of the opponent to slowly drain. The opponent may be saved if Fang is hit or if the poison is depleted.
Yoshinori Ono has also confirmed that the first line-up of DLC fighters will include Alex, Balrog, Guile, Ibuki, Juri and Urien. These characters can be unlocked by purchasing the DLC with real money or by earning sufficient amount of in-game currency.
