'Street Fighter 5' Release Date Arriving Soon, Storyline Divided Into Characters' Story, Cinematic Expansion
Among the game installments of the video game series "Street Fighter 5" carries the most breadth when it comes to the storyline.
Capcom told IGN in a phone interview that "Street Fighter 5" was going to have the most substantial story mode in the history of the video game series. As per the publication, the game would initially showcase a conventional arcade story mode fans had experienced before, which involves being part of series of arcade matchups featuring each character's backstory.
According to Eurogamer, "Street Fighter 5's" storyline is divided into the character stories and the cinematic story expansion. Aside from their origins, character stories also provide gamers inputs on the character's relationship to other characters. On the other hand, the cinematic story expansion is more detailed and is full of cutscenes. Some of these involve M. Bison, Charlie Nash, and Ryu.
Capcom also clarified how fans would be able to access and manage the in-game currency, which was called Fight Money. The funds circulate with purchasing DLC characters, as well as offline activities like completing the arcade or survival modes with various characters and boosting their rank.
Players can also go through the game's offline branch, which leads to an access to a new character, one of which would be revealed in March. The game is also set to allow greater flow of Fight Money with the upcoming daily missions.
With a number of characters to choose from, it is assumed that various players will use various characters and battle with other gamers while boosting their Fight Money. Also, the storyline can be transformed into a cinematic adaptation, transitioning the game to the big screen.
"Street Fighter 5" is set to be released on Feb. 16.
