Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams are all set to star in the sci-fi drama, 'Story of Your Life', according to Paramount Pictures. Renner will be starring opposite Amy Adams in the movie, which will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, according to Variety Magazine.

According to reports, the plot of the movie adapts the story Nebula and Hugo Award-winning author Ted Chiang. The movie is set in a world wherein alien crafts land and surround the world as we know today. To deal with the situation, an expert linguist is recruited by the military to determine whether they come in peace or are a threat. This character will be played by Adams.

As the character learns a way to communicate with the aliens, she begins experiencing vivid flashbacks that become the key to unlocking the greater mystery about the true purpose of their visit.

In the plot, Renner will be seen playing the role of a physics professor paired by the government with the linguist to help communicate with the aliens.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the script for the movie was written by Eric Heisserer and the is being produced by Glen Basner's FilmNation, David Linde's Lava Bear Films and 21 Laps' Shawn Levy and Dan Levine.
