Stevie Wonder Tribute Release Date, News: CBS Announces Artist Lineup for Spectacle Event

CBS has just released the lineup of artist that will represent Stevie Wonder in a tribute scheduled to air on February 16th.

The event will be titled "Stevie Wonder: Songs In The Key of Life - An All-Star GRAMMY Salute", and will be a two-hour special, from 9 to 11 Eastern time.

The artists leading the lineup will Coldplay's Chris Martin, Ed Sheeran, Usher, Janelle Monáe, and Willie Nelson. They'll all be taking to Los Angeles' Nokia Theater to perform some of Stevie's best works. The live concert will be taking place on February 10th.

More artist will be announced as the event nears.

Recording Academy exec Neil Portnow said in a statement, "Stevie Wonder is a beloved icon whose golden songbook remains one of America's and music's greatest treasures. A 25-time GRAMMY winner and Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, it's only fitting that Music's Biggest Night celebrates this legendary musical genius and pays tribute to his enduring music and legacy."

All the artist performing have in some way had a connection to Stevie in their career.

"Martin and Wonder recently appeared on BBC Music's all-star cover of the Beach Boys' "God Only Knows," while Wonder and Nelson similarly sang on the original 1985 "We Are the World." Wonder also contributed to Usher's 2004 album Confessions," writes Rolling Stone.

"Stevie Wonder is an absolute legend and I am so honored to be a part of this very special night," British singer, Ed Sheeran stated.

"The Recording Academy has honored the singer 25 times over the course of his career, including Producer of the Year in 1976 and multiple Best Male R&B Vocal Performance and Best Pop Vocal Performance awards. Wonder is also the only artist to have received the Album of the Year trophy in three out of four consecutive years, for Innervisions (1973), Fullingness' First Finale (1974) and Songs in the Key of Life (1976)," writes Rolling Stone.
