'SteamWorld Dig' News: Game Released for Xbox One, Heists to Come Out in 2015
Xbox One players have just been granted access to a new title called SteamWorld Dig. The game describes itself as being a "platform mining adventure with strong Metroidvanian influences."
Players are assigned the task of controlling a mining steamboat called Rusty after he shows up at an old mining town and begins the process of mining.
The game has a steampunk and Western fusion look, and the worlds are randomly generated, which encourages exploration and puzzle solving for players to uncover all of the hidden treasures.
The storyline relates to a lost human civilization which takes the form of "a degenerate race of dynamite wielding troglodytes."
Steam World Dig is not the first game created by developers Image and Form in the SteamWorld series.
Another game called SteamWorld Tower Defense has been released to Nintendo DS and 3DS and a new SteamWorld game is supposed to be released later this year on several platforms, some of which include the Xbox One, which will be called SteamWorld Heist.
SteamWorld Heist will be a turn based game centered on combat, which will also focus on space adventures as well as strategically managed shoot outs.
Previously, SteamWorld Dig has been released for the Nintendo 3DS in August 2013, and to PC users in December 2013.
In February 2014, the game was made available to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita owners, and for the Wii U in August of 2014.
Xbox One is the latest platform to be able to experience the interesting action and adventure mining game.
The game was well received by critics and players alike, as they await the release of SteamWorld Heist.
