The most awaited event for video gamers is coming! So prepare yourselves for another video game shopping spree.

According to Polygon, PayPal has tipped off that Steam's much-awaited Winter Sale is on December 22.

In a promotional image released by PayPal, it is basically saying to the gamers to "get their game on" come December 22; hinting that the sale is on its way. The use of gift cards for purchases were also mentioned in the promotion.

Steam's previous sale surprised a lot of people when the website all of a sudden held a Black Friday "Exploration" sale which discounted thousands of video games.

Valve still has not confirmed on the date yet. It would be really hard to foretell what their plans for this year will be since Valve is always changing strategies with regards to the games their are discounting and how much would they discount from the original price.

Valve, the creator of Steam, recently explained their new security protocols to protect the users' Steam accounts. It is important especially over the holidays because people this season receive more Steam gift cards and spend hundreds of dollars on new games. According to Valve, almost 77,000 accounts are hacked every month, so it is important for them to improve the security measures for their users.

On the other hand, The XBOX Store and PlayStation Network will also have their own sales events. XBOX Store's "Countdown Sale" will take place on Dec. 22 to Jan. 7 according to Christian Today.
