Gamers everywhere are getting their wallets ready for the upcoming Steam Summer Sale that brings about so many discounts on many popular videogame titles, the old and the new. This year, as confirmed by PayPal, the Summer Sale is set to start on June 11 and end on June 21.

For those that may be unfamiliar with how the Steam Summer Sale goes down every year, there's going to be plenty of titles and bundles available for gamers on both the PC and the Mac platforms. Within the 10 day sale timeframe, new deals will appear every eight hours as well as every 24 hours. Beyond that, Steam community users can expect to vote on their favorite titles, which will become discounted via flash sales if they receive the most votes.

On top of all that, the Summer Sale this year is going to be based off a theme, which is usually the case. Last year, the base theme of the whole thing was the "Summer Adventure," which allowed consumers to join a team that accumulated points by means of game purchases. At the end of the day, the team with the most points went on to provide 30 team members, free games off of their wish lists.

With regards to this year's theme, any information has not yet been disclosed by anyone at Steam or Valve Corp. However, gamers can expect to avail all of the traditional Steam features like the collectable and tradable cards, as well as badge creation and account leveling.

Last but not least, any Steam client user who is not familiar with the trading card system implemented in the program, should check out their inventories to trade and even sell their spare cards to level their accounts or collect some Steam wallet bucks.
