'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' New Trailer News: Han Solo Appears in Upcoming Movie Teaser [VIDEO]
In a new trailer released on Thursday for the newest film in the Star Wars franchise, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Han Solo declares "Chewie, we're home."
This movie is highly-anticipated by Star Wars fans, and the trailer was the highlight of the yearly Star Wars Celebration fan convention.
At the convention, thousands of the franchise's fans attended, meeting with former and current members of the cast and talking about the movie, which is planned to release on December 18 of this year.
The lead actors of The Force Awakens, Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega, and Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Peter Mayhew and Anthony Daniels, who previously played Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca and C-3PO, respectively, joined with the director and producer of the new film, J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy in order to answer fans' questions.
Harrison Ford who played Han Solo in the original Star Wars movie, which debuted in 1977, was not able to attend the convention due to an injury, however Abrams confirmed that the actor is well and resting.
The trailer begins with a vehicle racing along the planet Jakku, which is like a desert, while the voice of Luke Skywalker says "The Force is strong with my family. My father has it. I have it. My sister has it. You have it too."
The clip is about 90 seconds long and also depicts Isaac's Poe Dameron in his X-wing and John Boyega's character Finn in a Stormtrooper suit.
Fans were also able to see Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, running from an explosion and a new droid, called BB-8.
