'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Plot, Cast: Luke Skywalker With A Big Role In Episode VII and VIII

The seventh installment of the Star Wars Saga, "The Force Awakens," is just days away from opening night and we still haven't seen Luke Skywalker in any of the film's ads and promotions. There were speculations that Skywalker, portrayed by Mark Hamill, will be a villain in the upcoming movie.

Some even speculates that he is actually Kylo Ren. Looper made some supporting evidences about the theory; citing that Kylo Ren and Luke Skywalker were never seen together, they both wore black clothes, Luke likes to customize light sabers and that Kylo Ren was able to have access to Darth Vader's helmet. But however convincing the arguments may be, none of those were confirmed by the actors and production team.

Recently though, Hamill offered some updates about Luke Skywalker's status with the film:

"Rest assured, Luke will appear in TFA, although it's a fair bet that he won't quite be the innocent farm boy we met back in A New Hope. "Obviously you're seeing him in a very different time in his life," says Hamill. "There are lots of surprises in this movie. You're going to love it," Hamill said according to Empire via SlashFilm.

"It reminded me of when I was in Tunisia on the salt flats. If you could get into your own mind and shut out the crew and look at the horizon , you really felt like you were in a galaxy far, far away. I had that same wave of emotion happen to me when I was on Skellig Michael in Ireland. I wasn't anticipating it," he continued.

According to Times Oracle, Hamill confirmed to Twitter that he will reprise his role for Star Wars Episode VIII. He just finished his shoot with the television show, "The Flash" and now intends to grow his beard just in time for the filming of the epic space opera franchise.
