'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Cast News: Details About Andy Serkis’ Character Revealed
Details about Andy Serkis' character in the newest Star Wars flick, have been revealed. Since the new movies to the franchise were announced in 2013, information about the film has been revealed, little by little.
The new Star Wars film will feature several stars returning from the original installments of the film, including Harrison Ford. There will also be several new actors joining the cast, such as Adam Driver, from Girls.
There have not been many details about their roles revealed, but even less was revealed about Serkis' role until Thursday.
An interview was published with Annie Leibovitz on the Star Wars website.
Leibovitz photographed some of the cast members in costume and on set, earlier this year for Vanity Fair magazine. Pictures of other actors were published a few weeks ago as well.
The post on the website shows a photo from the shoot that has not been seen before, which shows Serkis sporting a motion capture suit and wearing tracking dots on his face.
The website added that he will be playing a character that is new to the franchise, called Supreme Leader Snoke.
It is still a mystery what the character actually looks like, as no other details were given on this topic.
The first teaser trailer does tell us something about which side the character will be on in the film.
Serkis is heard speaking in what some may call a menacing voice in the trailer, which was released in 2014.
This has sparked rumors that he will be playing a villain. Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the seventh film in the franchise, is set to for release December 18th.
