‘Star Wars Episode VII’ New Trailer Video Review: How George Lucas Would Have Done It
As the release of 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is only about a year away, a new trailer has emerged which allegedly claims to show how George Lucas would have directed the film, if he had done so.
The trailer was not actually made by George Lucas himself, but by Michael Shanks, a talented film maker who managed to create the video and post it on YouTube about 36 hours after the official movie trailer was released.
The"George Lucas' Special Edition" trailer allegedly added everything that Lucas believed to be missing from the original teaser. There was a hologram of Anakin, including massive use of CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) and some trade talk referring to a part in the story, which many criticized to have been the reason for "slowing down the prequels."
According to Den Of Geek, while the excessive use of CGI was unnecessary, it was also hilarious, as it showed dozens of Tie Fighters in scenes where only two would have been enough, as well as the inclusion of Dewbacks and Banthas in the scenes.
While Lucas will neither be directing nor writing the 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', The Hollywood Reporter said he created the concept of the story and even acted as the creative consultant on the set of the movie.
Lucas directed four of the first six films in the the 'Star Wars' saga, before he sold Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012 for a massive $4.05 billion.
In addition to the George Lucas' edition of the trailer, another parody of the film's teaser also surfaced, the 'Lego Star Wars: Episode VII' edition, wherein every portion of the trailer has been re-created "brick by brick" using Lego blocks.
'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is being directed by J.J. Abrams and is expected to hit theaters worldwide on Dec. 15, 2015.
