'Star Wars Episode 7' Spoilers, News: Promotional Artwork Reveals Vital Plot Details

Fans waiting to get a glimpse of the intergalactic spectacle were not disappointed, as 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' was among the highly anticipated and among the biggest presentations at Disney's D23 event. A poster drawn by artist Drew Struzan was unveiled at the event to whet the fans' appetite.

Christian Today reports that Struzan is not only famous for his work for the 'Star Wars' franchise - he provided posters for all six films so far, but also for his work in 'Indiana Jones.' The poster revealed at the D23 event was meant to promote the upcoming movie. It has been learned that Struzan will also be drawing the official 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' poster.

Apart from featuring Finn, Rey, Kylo Ren and Han Solo, the artwork reveals vital information about these characters. The biggest among them is Finn wielding Luke Skywalker's old blue lightsaber, which was once owned by his father Anakin Skywalker prior to becoming Darth Vader. This disclosure confirms that John Boyega's character will be brandishing the blue lightsaber.

Although this does not come as a surprise to fans of the 'Star Wars' movie franchise, it shows that obtaining the weapon will bring trouble for him as well as Rey. Nevertheless, now it remains to be seen how all this will unfold in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens.'

Speaking at the D23 event, Disney CEO and Chairman Bob Iger shared that the Mouse House is preparing to create the largest park inspired by the long-running, greatly loved movie franchise.

Entertainment Weekly quotes Iger as saying, "We're bringing Star Wars to life in a big way, and I mean really big. We're creating a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single-themed land expansion ever." Iger added, "We knew it needed to be big, we knew it needed to be great, so we're going to transport guests to a whole new planet."

'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is set for release on Dec. 18.
