Star Wars Episode 7 Spoilers: Carrie Fisher Jokingly Teases New Half-Wookie, Half-Human Species

Carrie Fisher, who will reprise her career-defining role as Princess Leia in the new 'Star Wars' film, talked about it on 'The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson' on Dec. 8. Although the actress said she could not reveal anything about the super-secretive film, she did fuel speculation about the appearance of a new species in the film.

Fisher prefaced the reveal by saying that everything she said about the highly anticipated movie would be a lie.

"It would be a lie to say that there were a new brand of creature, half-Wookie, half-human," Fisher said. Ferguson combined the terms and shortened it to "woman," which caused Fisher to comically walk off the set in mock anger.

'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', which will not be released until next winter, has been throttled by a myriad of rumors and potential spoilers since the film's development was first announced in 2012. The trailer for the film, which is directed by 'Star Trek' and 'Super 8' director J.J. Abrams, was released Nov. 28 and has garnered over 50 million views on YouTube.

In addition to the cast members who appeared in the teaser trailer, including 'Attack the Block' star John Boyega and 'Inside Llewlyn Davis' actor Oscar Isaac, the film will feature actors who were prominent in the original George Lucas-helmed trilogy, including Fisher.

Fisher, who played the iconic role of Princess Leia for six years beginning at the age of 19, said she felt she was still in character even after her last appearance in 'Return of the Jedi' in 1983.

"Well, you would have thought that I would have stopped and gone on to other things and so forth, but it turns out I never got out of character," Fisher said, jokingly adding that she felt miscast in the newest film.

The late night host poked fun at the actress, who previously said she would not appear in any more of the franchise's films.

"You're doing Star Wars. I thought you were going to do not more Star Wars," the retiring late night host said.

"I was going to and I really didn't," Fisher protested, "I didn't do Star Wars for over twenty years."

"Well, that doesn't mean you're not doing it now, does it?" Ferguson quipped, "You're doing it now."

Fisher also displayed some self-deprecating humor as she recounted a funny story about a man who told the actress that he hadn't seen her in the 'Star Wars' films.

"He said, 'Who are you? What do you do?' I said, 'Well I was in Star Wars'. He said, 'Oh, I didn't see the one with you. I just saw the one with [Fisher's co-star] Harrison Ford,'" Fisher recounted.

When the actress pretended to cry, Ferguson quickly replied, "Was that J.J. Abrams who said that to you?"
