EA has just released 'Star Wars: Battlefront' for an open beta test and gamers everywhere are exciting to get a chance to try the game. What's more is that it's an open beta test so anyone will be able to download the game and play it.

For those that may not be accustomed to open beta testing, it's pretty simple to get started. First thing's first, an Internet connection is a necessity, not only for downloading the game, but for playing it as well.

As it stands, in the beta players are able to play in a 40-player Walker Assault on Hoth, as well as the two-player co-op Survival Mission on Tattoine. The beta also incorporates a new mode called Drop-Zone.

Getting started, gamers will need to download Origin, which is EA's online game client, similar to Valve's Steam client. In the client gamers are able to purchase and download digital copies of games as well as customize their gamer profiles and interact with friends.

After downloading Origin and creating a free account, players must download the 'Star Wars: Battlefront' beta and install it. That's pretty much it, after installing, launch the game and click through the menu and they're on Hoth battling it out as Luke Skywalker.

There is one catch though, some gamers may not have a powerful enough computer to run it, and therefore EA has posted a minimum and recommended requirement list so that gamers can find out if they'll be able to run the game.
