'Star Wars: Battlefront' News: Title Gets September Release For Pass Holders; Animation Details Revealed
Along with Electronic Arts' "Star Wars: Battlefront" animation set up, new details on the release of its "Death Star" DLC have surfaced.
"Star Wars: Battlefront's" "Death Star" DLC might be released in October, Movie News Guide has learned. As per the publication, good news awaits for pass holders, as they may have access to the title in September, particularly two weeks prior to the others.
In line with this, it is assumed that the DLC could initial hit game stores on Sept. 15 and it is further revealed that September is nearly confirmed for the pass holders. However, the publication indicated that the title release could be on Sept. 20. Electronic Arts DICE also announced details about the double score weekend, which is set to commence on Sept. 23, as part of the celebration for "Death Star's" release.
In other news, Electronic Arts DICE's Andre Hamilton and Keneth Brown discussed their method on how they managed to utilize and scan the actual locales and props from the "Star Wars" films into "Star Wars: Battlefront." As cited by Gamasutra, photgrammetry principles were injected to the title, allowing Hamilton and Brown to integrate and transform real-world elements into digital elements.
"Star Wars: Battlefront" is Electronic Arts' firth and third-person shooting video game, inspired by the "Star Wars" films. In the game, players assume the role of soldiers from the two opposing armies. Electronic Arts' "Star Wars: Battlefront" was initially released in Sept. 2004 and the last installment was released in Nov. 2015.
