‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ News: EA Releases Gameplay Footage for PC, Launch Imminent [VIDEO]
Publisher Electronic Arts (EA) and developer game DICE are currently busy developing a hype prior to the release of the much-awaited 'Star Wars: Battlefront,' a first- and third-person shooter video game based on the 'Star Wars' film franchise.
According to a report in Christian Today, soon after its unveiling at the just-concluded 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), there have been mostly positive reviews about the upcoming 'Star Wars: Battlefront.' Despite the fact that fans of the franchise only got to see some bits and pieces of the upcoming massive multiplayer online title rooted in one of the most iconic franchises in the history of pop culture, the fans were convinced that the way the game is being developed seems to be worth the long wait.
At the recently-concluded E3 convention, DICE and EA showcased the console version of 'Star Wars: Battlefront'. However, last week, EA chose to whet appetites of the hardcore fans by continuously showcasing exclusive gameplay content from the game's PC version with a view to build hype prior to its release.
Similar to the gameplay showcased at the annual 2015 E3 event, the recently released PC gameplay were also shot on Tatooine and Hoth. The first video posted by Electronic Arts on its official Facebook account is actually the footage from a single-player survival mission on Tatooine. While the video clip is just 35 seconds long, it displays how fluid and visually enjoyable the upcoming game will be, provided the PC has the appropriate specs. In addition, the video clip demonstrates how picking up items at the right time can be helpful to the player. In was evident from the character picking up a squad shield in order not to get overwhelmed in the clip.
In the meantime, another video has surfaced online showing multiplayer gameplay on Hoth. This video has been taken from YouTube user Darth Dio, who claims that it is the original footage from the same EA Facebook page before it was removed. The video shows the player battle to finish with Imperial soldiers, while seeking X-wing's support in the midst of the fight.
'Star Wars: Battlefront' is scheduled to release for the PC and current-gen consoles Xbox One and PS4 on Nov. 17.
