Gamers waiting to playing EA's upcoming title 'Star Wars: Battlefront' are in luck as it's early October, and that's when developers said they'd start the "Technical Test." Beyond that, EA has gone ahead and announced the PC requirements needed to play the game.

Stepping back to the beta launch, players will be able to tackle a 40-player Walker Assault on Hoth, as well as the two-player co-op Survival Mission on Tattoine. Also, the beta is going to incorporate a new mode called Drop-Zone, which EA hasn't really released the details about.

For those that many not know or remember, EA showcased the Walker Assault and Mission Survival at E3. Players will get the chance to do battle as either Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader, but surely those won't be the only choices.

In the Survival Mode, the player and a fellow Rebel trooper are stuck on Tattoine fighting for their lives against waves of Imperial forces.

Beyond that, the beta is going to coincide with the launch of 'Star Wars Battlefront Companion', which is a mobile app for both iOS and Android which features a strategy based card game, 'Base Command'.

The app also lets players check out their stats and progression while allowing them to communicate with their fellow gamers. The app also allows players to earn in-game credits which they can use Star Cards, weapons, and other in-game collectables.

While there is no definitive release date for the beta, it's going to happen in early October, so it can't be much longer now. For those that are wondering whether their PC's will be able to run it, PC Gamer provided the following requirements:
