‘Star Wars' 1313’ News: Cancelled Video Game Still Undergoes Development?
It might not be the end for "Star Wars 1313," according to Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy.
In her recent interview with Slash Film, Kennedy said that she and the team did not want to throw any of that stuff away, describing "Star Wars 1313" as "gold." The Lucasfilm head added that it was something they had spending a lot of time looking at, pouring through, discussing, and they might very well develop those things further. For Kennedy, they definitely wanted to push it through.
"Star Wars 1313" is an anticipated video game that was cancelled after Disney purchased "Star Wars." first announced during E3 in 2012 with an M rating, the video game enables the player to lay waste to their enemies using the gadgets from the "Star Wars" universe, instead of the force.
Following the fate of "Star Wars 1313," "Star Wars: Underworld" is a live-action television series that was developed with Lucasfilm at the time of the Disney purchase. The series would have had a more mature take on the "Star Wars" universe, exploring deeper the politics aspect of the story, according to Cinema Blend.
With Kennedy's statement, some fans somehow believed that there is a high potential for the studio to work on the video game again. This entails that fans could see the actualization of the "Star Wars" television show and "Star Wars 1313."
Meanwhile, fans are set to see the events that took place in the "Star Wars" universe in J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens," which was premiered in theaters on Dec. 18.
