'Star Trek Beyond' Trailer Debuts, Release Date News [WATCH]
"Star Wars" is such huge movie event this year; so huge that people will not be too excited yet for any other movies until the blockbuster movie screening is over.
Let's not forget that there's another outer space sci-fi saga coming out in the future. Even though its release date is still in July 22, 2016, that doesn't stop its producers from having the people see their trailers as early as now.
"Star Trek Beyond" has secured a spot in the trailer time slot before the screening of Disney and Lucas Film's "Star Wars: The Force Awaken."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, it was no surprise that the movie under Paramount studios would secure a slot in the year's most awaited movie. J.J. Abrams, the director of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," produced "Star Trek Beyond." He directed "Star Trek" back in 2009 and "Star Trek Into The Darkness" in 2013. He did not direct the third installment of the film so that he could do "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." His Bad Robot production company is based in Paramount.
The other films that could secure the other trailer slots are Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Warner Bros.), The Huntsman's Winter War (Universal Studios), Fox's X-Men Apocalypse and Independence Day: Resurgence, and Disney's Jungle Book, Captain America: Civil War and Finding Dory.
"Star Trek Beyond" is directed by Justin Lin; written by Doug Chung, Simon Pegg and Gene Roddenberry. The film is currently under post production according to the International Movie Database.
