'Star Trek Beyond' News, Rumors, Spoilers: Justin Lin Leaks Alien’s Look In His Space Sci-Fi Film
In line with Justin Lin's upcoming space sci-fi film "Star Trek Beyond," the director has teased the aliens' look in the film.
On Apr. 5, Lin tweeted a photo of him, along with two actors playing aliens in his forthcoming film "Star Trek Beyond." The trio looked very close in the photo, with a jolly alien at his right and a smiling alien at his left.
According to You Offended Me You Offended My Family, Lin's photo marks the celebration of the first contact between the Humans and the Vulcans, which he called as "First Contact Day." It also marks the first day of production of his film. Presumably, some of the aliens could appear comedic in the actual film, though they are generally viewed as threatening creatures.
As per Hit Fix, "Community" actor Danny Pudi and "Fast and Furious 6" actor Kim Kold are the men behind the prosthetics. Pudi is known for his roles in "Vijay and I," "Road Trip: Beer Pong," and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," while Kodi is known for his roles "Dennis," "Teddy Bear," "Deliver Us from Evil," and "Fast and Furious 6."
The plot for "Star Trek Beyond" is unknown at this point, but the film stars John Cho, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Zachary Quinto, Anton Yelchin, Karl Urban, Sofia Boutella, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, Idris Elba, and Chris Pine, among others.
With Line at the helm of the film, Simon Pegg, Doug Jung, Roberto Orci, John Payne, and Patrick McKay are on board to pen the film screenplay. J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk, Jeffrey Chernov, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Tommy Harper, and Lindsey Weber.
Lin's "Star Trek Beyond" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on July 22. Watch the film trailer here.
