'Star Trek Beyond' News: Paramount Partners With Huahua Media For Movie Production

Paramount Pictures has added Huahua Media as its Chinese partner for its sci-fi film "Star Trek Beyond."

According to reports, this is going to be Huahua Media's first global investment in a tent pole film. The Chinese studio previously tied up with Paramount in the marketing of other Hollywood films such as "Transformers: Age of Extinction," "TMNT," "Mission: Impossible--Rogue Nation," "Terminator Genisys" and many others.

Based in Beijing, China, Huahua Media has been giving a boost to its resources across marketing sectors. It has also been recently making investments in IP with international associates from the United States, United Kingdom and France.

Last weekend during the CineEurope conference held in Barcelona, Paramount executives took a moment to pay tribute to "Star Trek" actor Anton Yelchin, who was killed in an accident on June 19th.

"We join the world in mourning," said Paramount co-president Mark Viane said before offering thoughts to his bereaved family.

Following the death of Yelchin, the film producers have decided to dedicate the film to the late actor. The people behind the film are reportedly in the process of adding tribute to Yelchin to the end credits of "Star Trek Beyond," one of them said.

This is not the first time that the film has carried a dedication with it. "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country" was in production when its creator, Gene Roddenbery died. In the last installment, a title card was inserted before the opening credits to honor the late series creator.
