'Star Trek' New Movie Release Date, Cast Rumors: 'Breaking Bad' Star Bryan Cranston to Play Villain?

The third edition of the new "Star Trek' movies is all set to release in July 2016, just in time for the 50th anniversary of the original "Star Trek' TV series.

According to Vancity Buzz, the shooting is set to start in Vancouver this summer. The film will now be directed by "Fast and Furious 6' director Justin Lin, after a lot a hand-changing. At one point in time, the film was going be directed by J.J. Abrams and later by Robert Orci.

Coming to the cast of the movie, the movie is reportedly planning to introduce three new female lead characters. There new characters will be taking up the roles of the captain a federation ship, the President of the United Federation of Planet, and the third character is said to be an ex-wife of Doctor Leonard H. McCoy, according to Film Divider.

The character Leonard H. McCoy will be played by Karl Urban and his ex-wife could be played by either Jocelyn Treadway or Pamela Branch. Also, in the cast are actors from the previous edition. Actors who will be reprising their roles are Chris Pine and Captain Kirk, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Simon Pegg as Scotty, and John Cho as Sulu.

In other news, rumor has it that the villain for the next 'Star Trek' movie is going to be played by Bryan Cranston, says Franchise Herald.
