'Star Ocean 5' New Game News: Square Enix Announces 'SO: Integrity and Faithlessness'
Square Enix has been teasing a new game all week, and at first, there were rumors that it would be a new Star Ocean game. Then, Square Enix replaced the teaser, which said "STAR," with "START."
Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness is the fifth game in the Star Ocean game series, It is also the first Star Ocean game to be released since 2009.
The game developers for this installment are from Tri-Ace, which is the same studio that launched the first Star Ocean in 1996. The game is set in between Star Ocean 2 and Star Ocean 3, and apparently it will be similar to Star Ocean 3 in its style and game play.
Just like the other games, it will take place on Feycreed, a planet which is located 6,000 light years away from the planet Earth. On a side note, the game will be released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
The current producer of the game is Suichi Kobayashi, who was originally the head of advertisement on the project.
Regarding this, Kobayashi made the following statement: "With the thought of putting my life into Star Ocean, I decided to change my position to producer (having previously been in charge of advertisement until now). I want to color Star Ocean 5 with the essence of Star Ocean 3."
Hopefully, official screen shots of the game will be released, along with a trailer. The main character designer for Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness is the artist known as Akiman.
The game will feature battles in real time with the attacks depending on the distance from the target, with different attacks and skills for close and far range targets.
