Spotify Turkey-Timer Playlist For Thanksgiving: Music Synced with Poultry Preparation- Cook Time
In an attempt at making Thanksgiving a fun and "music-filled" holiday, Spotify launched a playlist that's specifically timed for cooking turkey.
Spotify's custom playlist, which is a timer for cooking Thanksgiving Day turkeys, is based on the USDA'S standard roasting time, and will end once it is time to take the bird out of the oven.
The new playlist user simply put in the weight of the turkey and specified whether it is stuffed or unstuffed.
Then the next step was to choose the genre of your choice, there are six options to choose from, including "Feeling Thankful", "Golden Oldies" (a playlist with classic songs that are popular with moms), "Freshly Baked" (composed of songs that are new and fresh off the charts), "Club Kitchen" (song that will let you put your groove on), "Americana" (an all-American playlist that's perfect for the American holiday), and "Family Time" (songs that the entire family can enjoy).
The tool works by calculating the time that it will take to cook the turkey and match it with songs which will end at the same time.
THR also noted than an average turkey weighing about 15 pounds cooks for about four hours at a 325 degrees Fahrenheit temperature.
"Time your turkey to our freshly baked playlists. Just turn up the temperature, then turn up the volume," Spotify wrote on its website.
Meanwhile, the Music Times reported that the Swedish music streaming giant has a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving since the latest financial statement it posted revealed a 74 percent increase in revenue from 2012 to 2013 by $1.03 billion.
The company also reported that its net loss went down from $115 million in 2012 to only $80 million in 2013.
