'Spiderman' Reboot Movie News, Rumors: Next Franchise Film will be Called 'Spider-Man: The New Avenger'?
While the new 'Spider-Man' reboot film was rumored to be called 'The Spectacular Spider-Man,' as per the comic book franchise, another rumor has surfaced denouncing this.
The news come from Latino Review's El Mayimbe, and while it is still currently unconfirmed, the insider seems to believe that the film will be titled 'Spider-Man: The New Avenger.' He states:
"Take with the tiniest grain of salt pending further confirmation. I'm being told the working title for the untitled SPIDER-MAN stand alone film is SPIDER-MAN: THE NEW AVENGER Again, it's Sunday so take with grain pending further confirmation. What do you think of title?"
This title seems to take the same stance as the first 'Captain America' film did, the title being, 'Captain America: The First Avenger.'
If it serves for anything, it will leave no deliberation for fans that the new 'Spider-Man' reboot will exist in the MCU with the rest of the Avengers.
"It instantly creates brand association with the super-popular Avengers franchise and lets the uninitiated immediately know that this version of Peter Parker will be able to play with Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. Ideally, the subtitle (while a little on-the-nose) will generate tons of excitement for the new take; something that is much-needed after the character's reputation was weakened by mixed reaction to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 last year," writes Screen Rant.
The role of the new Spider-Man has been narrowed down to a few actors, but isn't officially casted yet.
There has also been a rumor that Robert Downey Jr. will be featured in the debut film as Tony Stark, testing Peter Parker's aptitude to be an Avenger.
Spider-Man will inevitably make his debut much before his solo film though in 'Captain America: Civil War.'
As it stands, the reboot film is slated for release on July 28th, 2017.
