'Spiderman' New Movie News: Kevin Feige Compares Superhero Reboot with Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy
As of late Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige has been very vocal about their new plans for the Spiderman character since he's now allowed back into the MCU.
As fans would agree, the last two reboots of the Spiderman franchise have fell short in representing the superhero to his full capability, in an interview with IGN, Feige explains how he plans to remedy this and really embellish the Spiderman fans want to see. Feige states:
"It's a testament to his character that there have been five movies made already over the last, however long it's been, 13 years, and yet, there's so many things that are integral to his character in the comics that haven't been explored yet. That's what most exciting."
He also compares it to the Batman movie franchise's and how it took Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy to truly bring fans into the world.
"Batman was the same way; there had been four Batman movies, and then Batman Begins was able to do something unique and tap into something that hadn't been seen before in the movies. It's a similar thing, obviously tonally completely different from Batman, but we're very excited about any number of things about Spidey and his standalone adventures."
He also speaks on about the character's new personality.
"When he puts that mask on, in the comics, he has a non-stop wit that is almost as troubling to the bad guys he fights as his webs and agility. We feel we haven't really seen that yet."
Feige has already confirmed that there will be no origin story for the character, and that the actor will be cast at 16-17 years old.
