'Spider-Man' News: Director Sam Raimi Speaks On The Character's Reboot [VIDEO]

Director Sam Raimi is accredited for a lot in the movie world, however to comic book fans he will always be known to be the first to helm a major live action adaptation of Marvel's Spider-Man.

The character has since returned to Marvel in a manner of speaking, and is facing yet another reboot. In a recent interview with MTV, the filmmaker had a chance to speak on his thoughts for the property and what he hopes the studio will focus on more:

"I'd like to go into his high school life and his relationships with Gwen Stacy. I love Flash Thompson. The drama and the difficulty of going through high school is so unique to a superhero. That's what Spider-Man's all about, so that they're going to explore that is very exciting."

Kevin Feige has gone on record to confirm that we'll be getting just that. The actor that was recently casted, Tom Holland, will portray the character through his very early years in high school.

"To go back to those Stan Lee, Steve Ditko origin tales of having him be younger and that dichotomy with dealing with the rest, and also in Brian Michael Bendis' Ultimate Spider-Man," Feige told LA Times. "That the younger he was, the more truer he was to the original Spider-Man comic book stories and also the more unique and different he would be in comparison to the other Marvel heroes."

Raimi finishes by expressing his confidence in the studio for this next reboot:

"I think that's gonna be refreshing, and just like my favorite of the Spider-Man comic books, and I have a lot of faith that they really know their stuff."

Spider-Man will appear in 'Captain America: Civil War' before his own solo film slated for 2017. It has been confirmed to be directed by Jon Watts and written by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein.
