'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Release Date News: Actor Abraham Attah Joins Cast?
"Beasts of No Nation" star Abraham Attah is joining the cast of the highly-anticipated "Spider-Man: Homecoming."
While Attah's role in the film has yet to be revealed, fans are already excited to see his character join the ranks of the other high-caliber members of the "Spider-Man: Homecoming" cast.
Attah rose to fame for his role in the popular Netflix original movie "Beasts of No Nation," where he portrayed a child soldier. He won the Best Leading Actor award at the Independent Spirit Awards for this role.
Aside from Attah, other cast members of the upcoming film include Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark, and Michael Keaton as one of the villains. Though it remains to be seen what villain Keaton will play, some speculate that he will be the Vulture, alongside Logan Marshall-Green as a secondary villain. Kenneth Choi will also play the role of Peter's high school principal, while Zendaya's character will be a mystery woman named Michelle.
Up until now, the roles of Donald Glover, Martin Starr, Michael Barbieri, Laure Harrier, Tony Revolori, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg, Jr., J.J. Totah and Hanninal Burress in the film remain a mystery.
In a statement at the CinemaCon, Tom Holland said, "It really is a homecoming, because throughout the movie, Peter is trying to find out who he is and where he belongs in this world."
Written by "Vacation" writers and directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is expected to feature a whole slew of characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Directed by Jon Watts, the film is set to hit theaters and IMAX on July 7, 2017.
