'Spider-Man' Cast News: Andrew Garfield Extends His Thoughts On Tom Holland

It surely can't be easy portraying one of the world's most coveted superheroes, which 'Amazing Spider-Man' actor Andrew Garfield can attest to, and while he has been replaced in favor of the younger and more spry Tom Holland, Garfield voiced his thoughts on the actor in a recent interview with ET Online.

He's clear to express the fact that he holds no animosity with what happened with Marvel and Sony, and that he's actually a bit relieved to be outside of the spotlight.

"It feels lovely, especially because Tom Holland is a really, really great actor. He was in this movie The Impossible and he was just this incredibly powerful, sensitive, just wonderful young actor. And [he's] a dancer, so his body's the right [form]. I'm just really excited to just be a fan again as opposed to bearing the weight of it."

Garfield goes on to say how excited he is to see Holland finally portray the character, as all fans are at the moment.

There has been no footage of the actor in the role as of yet, but we can expect to see him webslinging in the upcoming 'Captain America: Civil War.'

"It was a universal decision," Kevin Feige said in an interview. "We do a lot of tests and a lot of meetings so we can really try to find someone who becomes a unanimous choice. And in this case, it was Tom. He's just amazing! And he can do his own flips, which is just an added bonus. We didn't cast him for that reason. We cast him because he's an amazing actor and he's going to have all of those flavors Peter Parker needs to have."
