Spice Girls Reunion 2015 News: Former Singing Group Reunites at David Beckham’s Birthday Party Minus Melanie Brown
Victoria Beckham, a.k.a. Posh Spice, always does things in a different way and recently she thew a grand party to celebrate the 40th birthday of her husband David Beckham. The party not only boasted an A-list guest roster, but the occasion also reunited the former Spice Girls for Beckham.
According to IB Times, actress Eva Longoria was the first to post a picture of her along with the four other members of the '90s Spice Girls group. She also wrote, "I'm the new Spice Girl! #LatinaSpice."
The photograph showed Longoria sitting with Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) with Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), and Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), while Beckham (Posh Spice) standing behind her. However, one person was conspicuously missing in the photograph - Melanie Brown (Scary Spice).
However, fans should not be concerned about the absence of Melanie Brown. According to E! Online, since Mel B. is preparing for 'America's Got Talent' Season 10, she could not make it to the Beckham's 40th birthday party in Marrakesh, Morocco. In fact, this singer has been a judge on the reality show since Season 8.
Meanwhile, the soccer player also posted a photograph of himself with the ladies on his Instagram. He also wrote, "Great to see these shy and retiring ladies," adding, "Never a dull moment."
It seems Beckham has been joking about his illustrious wife's former musical partners by describing them as "shy and retiring." Meanwhile, there have even been rumors that the popular group may again head for a musical tour. All said and done, often scheduling is a major issue for the Spice Girls to reunite.
In March, Emma Bunton was asked regarding a tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their single "Wannabe" in 2016, and the blonde singer is reported to have said it involved lining up five different schedules. Bunton told Now Magazine, "It's just when the timing is right because we have our own careers now and we have families, it's just about getting five schedules together and that's all it is."
Hence, a professional reunion of the Spice Girls is unlikely to happen soon and fans will have to be content with their photos at Beckham's birthday party.
