'Spectre' Movie News: New James Bond Film Trailer Released [VIDEO]
Even though the 24th film in the Bond franchise isn't slated to open until November of this year, a trailer that piques the movie's mystery was released this weekend.
The trailer opens up with what remains of the MI6 headquarters. Moneypenny, played by Naomie Harris, comes to Bond, played by Daniel Craig, and gives him his "personal effects."
Bond is then seen rummaging through the box, finding a picture of two boys and man, along with a certificate of guardianship.
"You've got a secret, something you can't tell anyone because you don't trust anyone," says Moneypenny.
Instead of the usual explosions and action, the trailer continues to unravel the mystery when Bond travels to a desolate cabin where a man will reveal some the information Bond needs to know about.
"You're a kite dancing in a hurricane Mr. Bond," said the cabin's homeowner.
Then, in what looks to be a meeting, Bond attends it where a shadowy figure then says, "Welcome James. It's been a long time, and finally, here we are."
The trailer ends with the film's title.
Spectre is the acronym for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion. According to CNN the group is "a fictional global terrorist organization that Bond attempts to infiltrate after a cryptic message from his past returns to haunt him."
Along with Craig and Harris, Spectre will star Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra, Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, Dave Bautista as Mr. Hinx (the antagonist), Ralph Fiennes as M, Christopher Waltz as Oberhauser and Ben Whishaw as Q.
Spectre will be directed by Skyfall's Sam Mendes, the film is slated for a November 6 release.
