'Space Jam 2' News: Could The Film Be Next Project For Justin Lin?

"Space Jam 2" is currently in the works, and it might just be the next project of the renowned filmmaker behind "Fast & Furious" and "Star Trek Beyond," Justin Lin.

His success in the industry has endowed him with a wide array of opportunities, including the chance to write and direct the "Space Jam 2" film, which is currently under development. The live-action/ animation hybrid film tackling cartoons and basketball players is said to be the next for the filmmaker, who is contemplating on turning back to smaller projects before helming big-ticket projects.

At the Los Angeles press day for "Star Trek Beyond," the filmmaker was asked if "Space Jam 2" was his next project in the pipeline.

"'Space Jam 2,' I'm working on a script right now, so we'll see how that goes. But you know, it's kind of crazy, this business. I was all ready to go do my indie movie, and then I got the call from J.J. Abrams, so this became the greatest detour of my career. But also, I'm in a really great place and you know, when I left "Fast," I really wanted to try different things," Lin told Cinema Blend.

One of the most sought after directors in the industry today, Justin Lin is widely known for his knack for reviving successful franchises.

"Space Jam 2" has long been rumored, especially this year when speculations about Lebron James being the new main character started to go around. However, nothing has been confirmed yet about the details of the upcoming film so fans should stick around for more updates.
