'South Park' Season 20 Premiere: Comedy Central Debuts Two Promo Clips For 'South Park'

The previous season of Comedy Central's "South Park" gained popularity because of its theme, which centered on political correctness. The series was so highly acclaimed that even Ben Travers of Indie Wire gave it an "A" grade, saying that it "reinforced its relevancy" after several years on air.

As "South Park" returns for its 20th season, fans can expect the series to introduce more humor and tackle more issues of social relevance.

Just recently, the series has debuted its first two promotional clips. Titled "South Park is BACK!," the first one features the Colin Kaepernick controversy and shows the whole town of South Park singing a sarcastic national anthem. The lyrics of the mocking anthem says, "Colin Kaepernick is brave/ Cops are pigs, cops are pigs/ Wait, someone just took my stuff/ I need to call the cops."

The second clip is titled "Who Are You Voting For?" and is more traditional than the first. It features a census worker asking Randy Marsh who among the presidential candidates will get his vote in the upcoming presidential elections.

Created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, "South Park" first debuted in the fall of 1997 and has since then had a total of 20 seasons. Over the course of its run, the series has bagged five Emmy Awards for Outstanding Animated Program and produced an Oscar-nominated theatrical film. It has gained both acclaim and controversy for its sarcasm and provocative humor.

"South Park" premieres on September 14 on Comedy Central. The premiere episode of the season is titled "Member Berries" and features Garrison still on the campaign trail.
